Wonder Dog Rescue NY will consider adoptive families with 100 miles of our HQ in Hudson, NY. This is simply due to logistics and distance of travel for our volunteers.
Our goal is to make the best rescue match taking into consideration the dog's background and your family's needs. Every dog is different. We gauge personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We are very careful about the placements we make and do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home.

We review your application as soon as we receive it. We check your references and evaluate if your preferred pup is a good match.
Once your application review is complete, one of our staff will contact you to schedule a meet and greet visit onsite with the available dog(s). All household members must be present during the on-site visit, including any other household dogs.
Some folks take home dogs upon first meeting, others need a few days to decide. We ask that you keep in mind dogs need time to adapt to new settings.
