Our beautiful Mabel came to us from another rescue in California. She'd been rescued from the Merced shelter, and the first rescue had her spayed and removed benign mammary tumors. She lost her foster, and the rescue wanted to move her for further medical attention. You see, Mabel had a somewhat large subcutaneous mast cell tumor on her back leg and needed a dental. We had the tumor "cleaned out" at our fave SF vet, Mission Pet Hospital. They could not get clean margins, so the cancer is still there. She still has several good years ahead of her, and more if a new owner undertakes a medical regime.
Mabel is adorable..... she just wants to be with her person.... to be close and give kisses, just like most boston terriers. She is moderately active, but would be quite happy simply having leash walks instead of running in the yard. We all love her so much, and hope that a really GOOD Boston lover responds to her! Because she is 7+ she is also eligible for our Seniors for Seniors program. This waives the adoption fee for any person 55+ to adopt a dog over 7 yrs.
